Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Look, privacy policies are usually written by lawyers for other lawyers. This one is not. I’ll just tell you what we collect, what we do with it, and what we definitely don’t do.
What We Collect
The TFSA contribution calculator runs 100% inside your browser. Whatever numbers you type in — your birth year, your contributions, your withdrawals — none of that ever leaves your device or hits our servers. We never see it. I actually built it this way on purpose, because honestly, your financial details are none of my business.
That said, like basically every website on the internet, we do pick up some standard technical data through analytics tools — stuff like which pages got visited, how long someone stuck around, and what kind of device or browser they were using. It’s all aggregated. Anonymous. There’s no way for us to point at a data record and say “that’s you.”
Cookies
We may use cookies to get a better picture of how visitors move through the site, so I can make it more useful over time. No personal information sits inside those cookies.
If cookies aren’t your thing, just go into your browser settings and turn them off. The calculator still works fine without them.
Third-Party Services
To be honest, we use tools like Google Analytics to understand basic site traffic — things like where visitors are coming from and which pages actually get used. These third-party services run on their own privacy policies and their own rules, which I don’t control. If that concerns you, it’s worth reading through their policies directly.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell your information. We don’t rent it out. We don’t hand it to anyone for marketing purposes. That’s it.
External Links
This site links out to the CRA website and a handful of other Canadian government resources. In my experience, people assume that because a link comes from a trustworthy site, the destination must follow the same rules — but that’s not how it works. We have no control over what those external sites do with your information, and their privacy practices are their own.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this page from time to time — and when that happens, the date at the very top will change. Basically, if you keep using the site after an update, that counts as you accepting the new version.
